Finding Strength in Allah: Part 7 - Navigating Challenges and Seeking Redemption in Faith
Jesus (Isa in Arabic) is revered in both Christianity and Islam as a significant prophet. According to Islamic tradition, Jesus faced numerous challenges and struggles during his lifetime, yet he always remained steadfast in his faith and devotion to Allah (God).
One of the most notable challenges Jesus faced was the disbelief and rejection of some of his own people, who questioned his miraculous birth and message. Despite facing opposition and persecution, Jesus continued to spread the message of monotheism and compassion.
A pivotal moment in Jesus' life occurred when some people plotted to kill him. However, Allah intervened to protect him. Instead of allowing harm to come to Jesus, Allah raised him up alive, saving him from his enemies. This miraculous event underscores Allah's divine protection over Jesus and emphasizes belief in his eventual return.
Allah supported Jesus in various ways throughout his life. One of the most profound instances of divine assistance was when Jesus performed miracles by Allah's permission, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, and speaking as an infant in the cradle to defend his mother's honor.
In times of difficulty, Jesus turned to Allah in prayer, seeking guidance, strength, and support. One of the supplications attributed to Jesus in Islamic tradition is:
"O Allah, our Lord, send down to us a table [spread with food] from heaven to be for us a festival for the first of us and the last of us and a sign from You. And provide for us, and you are the best of providers." (Quran 5:114)
Moreover, it is believed in Islam that Jesus will return to Earth in the future. During his return, he will confront the Dajjal (the false messiah or Antichrist) and establish justice and peace with the help of Allah.
Through his unwavering faith, reliance on Allah, and dedication to spreading the message of love and peace, Jesus overcame the challenges he faced, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, mercy, and submission to the will of Allah.
